I cannot get enough football. I love college ball but the NFL does something special to my heart. I also watch basketball and a few other sports, but football is my heart. My sons play football in high school and will go onto college with scholarships. A proud parent I am. But, when I am not parenting I am footballing in one way or another. Thanks to social media, that’s much easier.
Social media makes it easy to get my fill of sports on a wide variety of spectrums. I use a few different websites, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. Each has new insight and a new way to communicate, which provides me more insight, broader options, more info, more pics, and an overall better time.
I even created my own group on Facebook to honor my favorite team, the Chicago Bears. It’s just a bunch of guys posting about players and the game, the coach, the rooster, and the season, but it’s nice that I can connect with so many other people. I’ve got over 250000 members. I decided to purchase Instagram followers to help promote the group on that site, which worked out wonderfully in my favor.
Aside from making a FB group, check out my 6 other recommended ways to get your sports fix using various social media platforms of your choosing.
1- Keep up with games that you don’t see on cable TV. Unless you have a special sports package, you may miss out on seeing some of the games that you want. But, social media has you covered. You’ll see not only game highlights but sometimes the actual games, too.
2- Want to meet other sports fans? It is not hard to find fans from across the U.S. and beyond when using social media. It’s easy to indulge in a great conversation with strangers and friends, family, coworkers, and others on social media.
3- Teams in the NFL have accounts on social media platforms. Follow their pages and you’ll be the first to find out about the games, breaking news, player trades, and much more.
4- Want to buy sports memorabilia? It is easy to find item that may be of interest using social media. You can score tickets to games, jerseys, and even rare items like autographs.
5- Sharing sports news with your friends is easy when using social media platforms. Did a hockey fight deserve a shout out? Want a friend to see the triple-double scored during the basketball game? You can spread the word via social media platforms.
6- Memes are hilarious and they’re found on most of the social media platforms that we use today. I personally find them a barrel of laughs and enjoy seeing them. I’m sure that you will feel the same way.
So, if you love sports as much as I do, make sure that social media is a part of your game plan. You’ll enjoy the perks above and so many others, so don’t miss out on another moment of the excitement and the fun.
